Born on October 27, 1997, Lonzo Anderson Ball is an American pro basketball athlete playing for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. He served as a point guard at UCLA for one year, receiving widespread recognition as a first-team All-American, before being selected as the second overall selection by the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2017 NBA draft. Subsequently, in 2018, he secured a position on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

Furthermore, in the NBA, shoulder and knee injuries impacted Ball’s rookie year with the Lakers (Fox Sports report). An ankle injury curtailed his second season. At the end of that season, he was part of a trade to the New Orleans Pelicans, part of the deal for Anthony Davis. After two seasons with the Pelicans, Ball moved to the Bulls through a sign-and-trade agreement. However, a continuing knee issue has significantly limited his playtime with the Bulls, leading to him missing the entire 2022–23 season.
