LiAngelo Robert Ball, famous for being LaMelo’s Brother, was born on the 24th day of November 1998. He, who is now a father, is an American basketball player who has been in the books of the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA G League. During his high school career at Chino Hills High School in California, he clinched a state championship and garnered national recognition in his junior year alongside his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo, who are now NBA guards.

Initially a three-star recruit committed to UCLA, Ball withdrew from college basketball following a suspension due to a shoplifting incident in China before the 2017–18 season. Subsequently, he joined the Lithuanian team Prienai. Additionally, he participated in the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), established by his father. Subsequently, he transitioned to the G League for the final part of the 2019-20 season. Following a brief period with the Detroit Pistons in late 2020, Ball was let go prior to the start of the 2020-21 season, after which he became a member of the Greensboro Swarm in 2021.

However, Ball, the middle child of LaVar and Tina (nee Slatinsky) Ball, comes from a lineage of college basketball players. His father, LaVar, who is 6-foot-6 (1.98 m), played basketball at Washington State and Cal State Los Angeles, while his mother, Tina, standing at 6 feet (1.83 m), also played for Cal State Los Angeles. Additionally, LaVar had a stint in professional football, playing as a tight end for the London Monarchs within the World League of American Football, commonly known as the WLAF.

From a young age, Ball frequently played basketball against older children, often facing teams of fourth and fifth graders while he was still in kindergarten. He began his athletic training at the age of four and started competing alongside his brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo, by the age of six.

At seven, he also started playing flag football, where Lonzo played as a quarterback, and LiAngelo, along with LaMelo, was a receiver. On the basketball court, LiAngelo developed his skills playing with his brothers for Big Ballers VXT, an under-17 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team founded by their father and coached by both parents.

During his four years at Chino Hills High School in California, Ball played basketball and started as a freshman alongside his older brother, Lonzo. He contributed to Chino Hills reaching its first CIF Southern Section Open Division championship game. The team narrowly lost in overtime to Centennial High School in the Southern California Regional Division I final.

In his sophomore year, Ball played with Lonzo Ball and his cousin, Andre Ball. He encountered a foot injury before the season, leading to his absence from a tournament at Fairfax High School in June 2014. On September 14, he impressed with a 35-point performance, including seven three-pointers, to clinch the Ron Massey Memorial Fall Hoops Classic. In December 2014, Ball showcased his scoring prowess with 53 points in a victory over Dorsey High School.

However, the season’s end saw Ball sidelined for four games due to an ankle sprain, though he made a comeback for the playoffs. His team ultimately fell short in the CIF State Division I championship game. Following the season, on April 21, Ball verbally committed to joining UCLA for his college basketball career.
