Tammy Wilson went on to study nursing at the University of Cincinnati and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Thirty years later, she achieved a Master’s in Health Administration from Ohio University.

In the early 1980s, she began her nursing career at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Then, after two years, she relocated to Richmond, Virginia, to become the assistant clinical director of nursing at Henrico Doctors Hospital.

She started playing basketball when she was five years old, and her dad was her coach at the local YMCA until he passed away when she was 12. Tammy, her mother, is also the mother of Harisson IV.

Anna Wilson  Education:

Anna Wilson went to Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia, before she moved to Bellevue, Washington, for her last year of high school. She played basketball in a way similar to and set a record for the most career assists at Collegiate School. She also scored a lot, ending up with the fifth-highest points total for her team.

As a high school sophomore, Wilson committed to playing for Stanford University’s women’s basketball roster and had offers from colleges like Wake Forest, Maryland, Marquette, Wisconsin, and Virginia.

Her teammates chose her to be a team captain for her high school team in Bellevue. Playing as the primary ball handler, she scored an average of 15.3 points, stole the ball 3.2 times, and assisted 4.6 times per game. Her team won the Class 3A girl’s state championship with a perfect season record.

Anna Wilson Career:

In 2013, Wilson tried out for the U.S. Under-16 national basketball team. The following year, she was part of the team that won a prestigious gold medal at the FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women when the U.S. beat Spain, even though she played for a short time in the final game.

ESPN HoopGurlz rated Wilson as a top player and the 42nd-best in the country, while Prospects Nation saw her as the 34th-best and gave her four stars. Wilson played only six games during her first year at Stanford because she had health problems. She missed the start of the season recovering from a concussion and later missed more games due to a foot injury. In her first game for Stanford against Yale, she scored eleven points in a big win. Overall, she scored seventeen points in her freshman year.

Wilson began her first game in her second year and scored eight points. She had her best scoring game against Ohio State with twenty-one points. She ended the year with an average of 3.3 points in each game but had to sit out the last seven games because of another foot injury.

Her junior year saw her play in thirty-two games, starting three, as her team won the Pac-12 Conference but lost in the NCAA tournament. In her senior year, she played less, scoring 2.5 points per game on average, and the season was cut short by the pandemic.

Road to fame:

Because she missed so much playing time in her first year, Wilson got to play an extra year at Stanford. As a fifth-year senior, she started all the games and was known for her defence. She played her best season, helping Stanford win the 2021 NCAA championship. In March, she was named Pac-12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Moreover, she was allowed to play a sixth year because of the pandemic and decided to stay at Stanford. And also played more than ever this season, starting twenty-five games and playing point guard.

Then, she helped her team get to the Final Four and finished her college career with one of the highest numbers of games played in history. Wilson entered the WNBA draft, where professional teams pick college players, but she wasn’t selected. She has an older brother, Russell Wilson, who has always supported her.
